He began rapping at age 14 and moved to New York City at 19, where he quickly made a name for himself as a freestyle MC. By 1993, he won the New Music Seminar battle and signed with Elektra Records, recording an album called Natural Disasters.
Supernatural became known for his lasting freestyle skills. He hosted a radio show on 98.7 Kiss-FM in 1994 and formed a friendship with KRS-One, who later became his manager. He released The Lost Freestyle Filesin 2003, a compilation of his earlier work, and followed up with the album S.P.I.T. (Spiritual Poetry Ignites Thought)in 2005, featuring artists such as Raekwon, B‑Real, and Chali 2na.
His story was captured in the 2000 documentary Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme, highlighting his legendary battles with MC Juice and Craig G. On August 5, 2006, at the Rock the Bells Festival, he set a world record by freestyling continuously for 9 hours and 15 minutes.
Over more than three decades, Supernatural has toured globally, working with major acts like Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, and Linkin Park. He also became a producer, visual artist, and educator, teaching freestyle workshops at universities and youth centers.
