Biography

Ignazio Boschetto was born on October 4, 1994, in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, to parents Vito Boschettoand Caterina Licari, and he has an older sister named Antonina (Nina). Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Marsala, Sicily, where he was raised and where his musical gift began to shine through.

From a very young age, Ignazio showed a love for music. At just about three years old, his parents were surprised to hear him singing an aria by Verdi all on his own. Growing up in Marsala, he joined the school choir and often sang while helping his mother in her pizzeria. A customer heard his voice and suggested singing lessons, and he began formal training in music.

In 2009, at the age of 14, Ignazio took part in the Italian TV talent show Ti lascio una canzone. There he performed solo, and later joined performances with Piero Baroneand Gianluca Ginoble. The trio’s vocal chemistry stood out, leading them to form the group Il Volo.
