Deorro, whose real name is Erick Orrosquieta, was born on August 30, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. He comes from a Mexican family, which gave him a strong connection to both American and Mexican culture while growing up. He was raised in West Covina, a city near Los Angeles, where he spent most of his childhood. From a young age, Deorro showed a deep interest in music and entertainment. By the age of fourteen, he had already started working as a DJ, playing at small local gatherings such as birthday parties and community events. His passion for music quickly grew, and only a few years later, when he was around sixteen or seventeen, he began producing his own songs. This early exposure to both performing and creating music shaped the foundation for his later journey as an artist.
Deorro, whose real name is Erick Orrosquieta, started his music career by remixing DJ Chuckie’s track “Make Some Noise” in 2012. This remix became popular on Beatport, helping him begin to get noticed by a wider audience.
In 2013, he released “Yee” on Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings. The song did well in several European countries, marking his first major label breakthrough. That same year, his rising acclaim led to a cameo on MTV’s Teen Wolf, and he entered the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list at number 19, the highest new entry that year. Toward the end of 2014, he released “Perdoname,” which gained attention in Poland after being used in a Microsoft Windows TV ad.
In March 2015, he collaborated with Chris Brown to release “Five More Hours,” a vocal version of “Five Hours.” The song earned many certifications around the world, racked up over 330 million Spotify streams, and had more than 200 million views on YouTube.
In 2016, he released “Bailar,” featuring Elvis Crespo. This Latin/EDM track earned an 8× Platinum certification and even won Latin Billboard’s Tropical Song of the Year. A remix version featured Pitbull.
In 2017, Deorro dropped his debut studio album Good Eveningunder Ultra Music. The album had 24 tracks and blended many dance music styles. It did well on Apple Music charts, hitting number one in two countries, number four in France, and number 19 in Australia; it also made the overall Top 50 in six countries.

He’s also held residencies, such as at Marquee in Las Vegas.
In 2022, he released ORRO, his first full Latin-language album, with 19 tracks. It was well-received by Billboard, and he followed it with a 60-date world tour, including sold-out shows in Los Angeles. He also performed at events like the NFL halftime show and supported Bad Bunny on tour. He collaborated with Tiësto on “Savage,” which gained significant streaming numbers, and made an official remix for Pitbull’s “Discoteca,” performed at Premio Lo Nuestro, where he also got nominated for DJ of the Year.
Most recently, in 2023, Deorro released the ReflectEP with four tracks. Also, in 2025, he signed with Prodigy Artists for management, where he plans to push more Latin-inspired dance music and relaunch his Panda Funk label in a renewed, artist-focused way.

His first album, Good Evening, was released in 2017 under Ultra Music and contained 24 tracks that mixed different styles of electronic dance music. His second studio album, titled Orro, came out in 2022, also with Ultra Music, and it marked his first full Latin-language project, showing his ability to blend EDM with Latin influences.
Along with his albums, Deorro has released a number of EPs. In 2012 alone, he put out several projects including Can You Hear Me, Me, Rock The Party, Elevation, and Play Crank It Upwith D.O.D. These helped him build his early identity in the dance music world. In 2014, he followed with the EP Boombox, and the next year in 2015, he released No More Promises. Most recently, in 2023, he came back with another EP called Reflect, which further highlighted his evolving sound.
