College Career

Denzel Perryman played college football from 2011 to 2014 at the University of Miami. As a true freshman, he played in all 12 games and started five of them. He led all ACC freshmen and was second on his team with 69 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss, and he recorded his first sack against Georgia Tech.

In his sophomore year, Perryman started six of nine games despite dealing with a high ankle sprain. He ended the season with 64 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, and scored a touchdown on a 41-yard interception return. He earned third-team All-ACC honors and also received All-ACC honorable mention.

By his junior season, Perryman had fully grown into a leader on defense. He started all 13 games and posted 108 total tackles, with 69 solo stops, and had six games with 10 or more tackles. Professional Career

Denzel Perryman began his professional football journey when the Chargers picked him in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played his first six seasons with them, starting many games and making key plays in the middle of their defense. In 2021, he was traded to the Raiders, where he had his best year, recording 154 tackles and earning a Pro Bowl spot. He joined the Texans in 2023 and played a full season before returning to the Chargers in 2024.
