DaQuan Marquel Jeffries was born on August 30, 1997, in Edmond, Oklahoma to parents Edward Johnson and Sharonda Jeffries. He grew up in Edmond and has three brothers and two sisters. He began playing basketball when he was 13 years old. He attended Santa Fe High School in Edmond, where he was coached by Lenny Hatchett. During his senior year in high school, he earned All-State honors, was named Defensive Player of the Year in his conference, and led his team to a second-place finish in the Oklahoma state tournament.

College Career

DaQuan Jeffries started his college basketball at Oral Roberts University in the 2015-16 season. He played 29 games, starting in six of them. He averaged about 6.7 points per game and 4.4 rebounds. Mid-season he was ill but still made contributions in steals, blocks, and rebounding.
After Oral Roberts, he played for Western Texas College in 2016-17. There he improved a lot. He averaged around 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, plus help with assists and steals. His shooting was strong (66 percent from the floor), and he earned first-team All-Western Junior College Athletic Conference honors.
Then DaQuan transferred to the University of Tulsa, where he played for two seasons (2017-18 and 2018-19). During his time at Tulsa, he averaged about 11.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game overall. As a senior in 2018-19, he averaged 13.0 points and 5.6 rebounds, and he was selected to the Third-Team in the American Athletic Conference.

Professional Career

DaQuan Jeffries was not selected in the 2019 NBA Draft. Shortly after, he signed with the Orlando Magic on June 21, 2019, but the team released him on October 19, 2019.
On October 21, 2019, he signed a two-way contract with the Sacramento Kings. Under that contract, he split time between the Kings in the NBA and their G League team, the Stockton Kings.
While playing for the Stockton Kings, Jeffries had some big games. For example, on December 13, 2019, he scored 44 points, pulled down nine rebounds, and blocked two shots in a win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
He has had brief stints with several NBA teams. He signed a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in January 2022, through a hardship exception, and played in three games.
Later, Jeffries joined the New York / Westchester Knicks. He signed with the Knicks in September 2022, played in the G League with Westchester, then got a two-way contract with the New York Knicks later that year. Over time, the Knicks converted his contract to standard NBA terms (not two-way or 10-day). He was waived by the Knicks in late 2023.
In 2024, he re-joined the Westchester Knicks and also signed 10-day contracts with the New York Knicks several times. In 2024 he officially signed with the Charlotte Hornets and is currently a member of that team.
Across his NBA career, he has averaged modest minutes per game. His more notable performances have mostly come in the G League or when given extended playing time opportunities in the NBA.
